Nexus One and iPhone Compared: Is this the Death of iPhone?

Is Nexus One going to be the iPhone killer?

People expect it to. After all, Nexus One is a Google product and Google dominates the world wide web. If Apple is a giant that no one can take on, maybe Google can try?

People needed a smartphone that would not tie them to a single carrier like AT&T and Verizon. In this age of unlimited options, it doesn’t sound very smart for people get locked into iPhone and AT&T.

But how does Nexus One fare when compared to other smartphones? It’s quite hard to make comparisons at the moment but early reports indicate that Apple should really have to do something if they want to keep their place in the mobile phone industry. Sure Nexus One has a long way to go, but if Google’s clout and sheer size is factored in, Appleworld should sense trouble now. Remember how Chrome gained on Safari in its one year of operation? This could happen to iPhone too.

Erik Chang of Billshrink.com did a great job drawing up a comparison chart between iPhone, Palm Pre, Droid and the newcomer Nexus One. Look at the table below and decide. Is this the beginning of the death of iPhone?

Google Nexus One Now Hot on the Market

The tech world is now going crazy about the latest unveiling of the much awaited Google Nexus One, the newest arrival in the world of smart phones. This is Google’s first venture into the smartphones market and because it’s a Google product, expectations are very high.

So what are the most notable features of Nexus One?

According to tech reviews, the first exciting feature is its voice recognition capability. Meaning what? Meaning you can tweet and text WHILE DRIVING! Yeah I know it doesn’t sound very responsible (and please don’t do it) but isn’t that what many people want?

The second most loved feature (well, not really a feature) is that Nexus One is unlocked, for a steep price of $530. This is good news for people who are already committed to a certain carrier and didn’t have that same choice with iPhone (AT&T) and Droid (Verizon). Nexus One is the first high end smartphone in the US that’s open to more than one carrier.

Third feature that no iPhone user would want to hear is that Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is fully supported in Nexus One. Flash heavy sites, ads and games can be displayed in Google “superphone,” something that Apple users have been dying to have in their phones. For those who love to play video games in their phones, if this video won’t make you wanna buy Nexus One, I wonder what will.
